The 2012 ACR Doctoral Symposium will be held in Vancouver, British Columbia on October 3-4. The objective of the Symposium is to bring faculty members and doctoral students together to discuss the latest thinking about theoretical and methodological approaches in consumer research as well as “how to” advice for surviving as a doctoral student. The symposium will begin with dinner on Wednesday, October 3, with a faculty member and a small group of students going to a local restaurant. On Thursday, October 4, there will be a full day of sessions (faculty panels, breakout sessions, and “speed-dating”). A tentative outline of the schedule appears below.
The Symposium is designed for students at all stages of the doctoral program, including those who are thinking of embarking on a doctoral career and those who are finishing up their dissertation. In order to participate in the Symposium, students will need to register and pay the symposium registration fee on the conference website. There is no need to submit a paper or an abstract. Registration for the symposium will begin in late summer.
