EARLYBIRD REGISTRATIONS ARE NOW OPEN:

(Accommodation can also be booked through this registration page, if needed)
On behalf of the Co-Chairs, we look forward to welcoming you all to the Asia-Pacific Association for Consumer Research conference in the 'Adventure Capital of the World', Queenstown, New Zealand, from July 6th-8th, 2012. The theme of AP-ACR 2012 is: "Cool Ideas." We hope this year's conference will showcase lots of your cool ideas and theories that impact the way we look at new and emerging contexts or offer a cool insight into existing contexts, concepts and consumption behaviour. As with previous years we are accepting Competitive Paper, Special Session, Roundtable, Poster and Film Festival Submissions. The deadline for ALL submissions will be 5pm Monday 12th December, 2011 (GMT). We appreciate that this deadline is earlier than in previous years. We have done this purposefully to ensure acceptance notices are sent to authors as early as possible to allow plenty of time to arrange flights to and accommodation in New Zealand. Unfortunately, there will be NO Doctoral Consortium at this conference. In a new development for ACR conferences, and in line with conversations during the main conference in St Louis, the Queenstown Chairs have decided to allow 1500 word extended abstracts for competitive paper authors that only wish to have the extended abstract available in the final proceedings. Authors wishing to have a full paper available in the final proceedings still need to submit a full, 20 page submission; however, those who are only wishing to have the extended abstract available no longer need to submit a 20 page paper for review. We will be updating the website and CFPs accordingly. This decision mean authors will need to communicate their contribution far more efficiently and we welcome discussion on how to write an effective extended abstract via the ACR Facebook group (https://www.facebook.com/#!/groups/222808171070055/) or directly to the ACR Chairs (ap-acr@canterbury.ac.nz).
